Cleveland Heights Boiler Replacement

On this job we removed a poorly operating water boiler and the original coal boiler and installed a new Burnham series 3 water boiler. When installing a cast iron water boiler on a system that was once gravity hot water, some kind of provision must be included to protect the boiler from sustained flue gas condensation. This is because of the tremendous amount of cool water in the system. On this boiler we opted to use a motorized 4 way mixing valve that doesn’t let water flow to the system unless the temperature at the boiler is above 130 degrees.
